Big Weekend!

Posted on December 9, 2019 by Mylo Hatzenbuhler Posted in Uncategorized .

Farmboy Fans

I was on the go all weekend!   I had big rock concerts in Dickerson, and then Dickerson again, and in Parshall!  The two concerts in Dickerson were for different businesses, and in Parshall I sang at the Lutheran church.  It was a great time!
I was going to come home to the farm between the two Dickerson shows, but I decided to stay.  That place where the time zone changes is confusing!  You go by there and you have to stop and set all your watches, and then coming back you do the opposite – I haven’t been that confused since the first time I tried to milk the goat.
The concerts were all great, and I got to pose for selfies with my fans!  The folks in Parshall were very nice!  We had bad weather that day and the drive up there in the pickup was rough, but all the luff they showed me makes it all worth it!  I have great fans!
If you need that perfect gift for someone for Christmas, a Mylo CD is a great choice!  If you are in Bismarck you can pick one up at the Rainbow Shop on South 7th – or you can save the drive and order from my website store!
Merry Christmas to everybody!

October snow

All this snow – lieber Zeit!  It makes a guy think a lot, so I wrote a poem.
“When icicles hang from your nose,
It means you’ve been shoveling snow in the cold.”

New England loves me!

Posted on July 8, 2019 by Mylo Hatzenbuhler Posted in Uncategorized .

We had a great time in New England, NorDakota 58647 today!  I was there for my big hit rock star show to cap off a weekend of Music in the Park.  Sorry I don’t have any pictures, but I can tell you that everyone loved me and that my hit songs “A Loan Again, Naturally” and “To All the Cows I’ve Milked Before” especially rocked the house.

When I have a rock star tour to the Slope area I never know if it’s quicker to go south to U.S. 12 and then go west through Mobridge and then north, or to go north to I-94 and then go west and south.  I worked half the night with the road map and I figured out that to get to New England from the Hatzenbuhler farm it’s about nine miles shorter to go down to SouDakota and take U.S. 12, but I didn’t want to spend all that time going through Customs at the SouDakota border so I went north to I-94 after all.

Big thanks to Gordon Rettinger and the Lions Club for bringing me to town and for having such a great event!  Friday I head north to Deering, NorDakota!

Spring planting is done! Summer concerts, too!

  Hi, Farmboy Fans!
It has been a quiet spring on the farm.  No rock concerts for a while; we had other plans to make!  Got busy with some big family news (I’ll talk about that in another blob), and I was off the tour circuit for a while – but I’m back now, and everyone in Strasburg is cheering, because I’ll be going to other towns for concerts!
I kick things off in Stanley on Fathers Day, and then it’s off to Jamestown, Deering, New England, SouDakota, and the Morton County Fair, right underneath Salem Sue!  This will be my first concerts in Deering AND in New England!  They never knew what they were missing — but after my concerts they will!

To find out where you can see me, check the schedule !
   See you soon!

Bad weather, fans.

My January 27 rock concert in Butte, ND 58723 has been moved to Sunday, March 3.  There’s a winter storm out there, and because I love my fans so much I don’t want them to risk life and limb and tractor by coming to the concert in dangerous weather.
Get ready, Butte, for March Mylo Madness!

New news for the New Year!

Sorry I haven’t been writing on the blob much.  It’s always busy around Christmas, and especially right after the first of the year — that’s when I take the census on the farm.  Farm census is tough!  Chickens are hard to count, and the root cellar inventory takes forever, especially since Emma had me do that extra digging last fall to open up a commercial wing in there.  That’s where she keeps supplies for Beets Me, the cafe in town she runs.
Ja, Emma’s cafe is a big hit!  People are raving about her new recipes for beets.  Even the Dutch folks like them!  Emma put out a cookbook for Christmas!  Everything has beets in it.  “Beet It” is the title.  Ask at your local bookstore.
She even took over my room in the dairy barn where we have the cream separator, and that’s why I haven’t been writing much.  The separator room is pretty small, but there’s room for a desk, and that’s where I did my writing — and kept the stats on the cows, gallons, flow speed, teat percentage, and RPMs (Regulation Pails per Month).  I had to move my whole office to the root cellar — that took some time!  There’s no electricity in the root cellar either, and with our budget being a little tight I had to wait for Christmas to get the presents I asked for:  450 feet of extension cords to run electricity from the two-car crotch to the root cellar.  I have to make my church socks stretch another year.
Even with electricity in the root cellar it’s still cold down there, and the time I started the computer to do my writing the computer keyboard was so cold half the letter keys were frozen stiff.  I bring the keyboard into the house now, and to get it warm I put it under the covers when we go to bed.  The first time I did that it took me three days to get Emma settled down again.
Next week I start up my new rock star tour — the 2019 International World Tour of North and South Dakota!  I’ll have concerts all over both Dakotas (kin that order) and in Minnesota too, and who knows where else!  People are calling every day to find out when I can come to their towns.
2019 is looking great for the Strasburg Superstar, and I’m talking to my recording studio engineer (the high school FFA advisor — he can do everything!) and making plans for the next Mylo Hatzenbuhler rock star album!  Stay tuned!!

Rock star excitement!

Posted on May 10, 2018 by Mylo Hatzenbuhler Posted in Uncategorized .

I had a BIG show in Minot, NorDakota this week!  Trinity Health up there puts on a Seniors Fair, and I was a smash!  Those seniors are great, and the luff me!  Hundreds of fans were chanting my name:  Mylo!  Mylo!  Mylo!
Some of them need a little help getting around, you know.  The place was really crowded!  Looked like Sturgis, except with walkers instead of Harleys.
It was a great time!  Not much action in the mosh pit, though.
Tonight (Thursday) I’m in Bismarck for a big convention, and from there I head west for a Friday concert in Terry, Montana, where they make those Terry Cloth towels for drying the dinner plates.  Next week I’m back in Bismarck for a concert again!  Big doings for your favorite rock star!

I still have some open dates for summer shows.  Want to be hero at your town festival, or your family reunion, or that big event?  Bring my rock concert to town!  Nobody forgets my show!

It’s our wedding anniversary!

Posted on November 27, 2017 by Mylo Hatzenbuhler Posted in Uncategorized .

Emma and I got married on this day, long ago.  Tomorrow it will chust seem like yesterday.  Emma is wonderful, and I don’t want to be married to anyone else.  I don’t want to be a bachelor farmer either.  I luff my wife!

We have been married 42 years, Emma and me — 21 for me, and 21 for her.

I was pretty nervous about getting married, but my Papa Reinie calmed me down.  “Mylo,” Papa told me, “a man is not complete until he’s married.”  Now I know that he was right, because I’m finished.

Emma, you’re the cream of the crop!

Big show for seniors!

Posted on June 14, 2017 by Mylo Hatzenbuhler Posted in Uncategorized .

I had a great concert in Bismarck, NorDakota tonight!  The Burleigh County Senior Adults Program had its 40th Anniversary today, and they pulled out all the stops and brought me there for a senior citizens rock concert!  I brought the house down, like I always do, and they loved me.  One lady told me after the concert “I laughed so hard that I had to use my inhaler twice!”
