I'm just now catching up from last week -- I criss-crossed the state for rock concerts! First it was to Medora to rehearse for our opening weekend of shows there; then I wowed a big crowd (about 900) in Steele for BEK Telephone's 60th Annual Meeting; then, on Friday the 15th it was off to Bottineau for the Bottineau County Fair! They loved me there! I did over an hour of songs, including my hits "Walkin' the Floor for a Ewe" and "Super Cattle Growth Hormone" and "Hens with Low Faces."
After the show I drove home to the farm -- in rain all the way -- got a little sleep, checked on the milk cows (had to get Papa Reinie to do the milking this week), and then headed for Medora, ND, where we opened our new season of shows! This makes 29 summers I've been deforming out west in the Badlands, and every season we make new fans. One of them told me, "Out of all the rock concerts I've seen, yours is the most recent."
Monday I slept in (8:00 a.m.!), just to rest up from all those shows; there's always work to do on the farm, though, so we've been back to it --- farming on the Northern Plains; milking cows, growing grains ...
Don't forget, fans about my weekly radio shows: every Monday morning at 9:20 on KBMW, 1450 AM in Wahpeton, ND, and Wednesday mornings at 6:45 on KOVC, 1490 AM in Valley City, ND!
See you soon, in Medora or someplace else!
